What does the term "generic" mean? Do generic medications produce the same effect that the brand name medicines do?
The difference between a brand name medicine and a generic one is in the name, shape and in the price. A generic drug is usually called by the name of the active ingredient while a manufacturer uses a brand name. However, a manufacturer cannot possess a patent for a certain chemical agent, this is why manufacturers of generic medications can legally produce the so-called "generics". They are the same chemically and since the active ingredient is identical, they have the same medical effect. Thus buying a generic medication one pays less but gets the very same result.
Internet pharmacy
Since about the year 2000, a growing number of Internet pharmacies have been established worldwide. Many of these pharmacies are similar to community pharmacies, and in fact, many of them are actually operated by brick-and-mortar community pharmacies that serve consumers online and those that walk in their door. The primary difference is the method by which the medications are requested and received. Some customers consider this to be more convenient and private method rather than traveling to a community drugstore where another customer might overhear about the drugs that they take. Internet pharmacies (also known as Online Pharmacies) are also recommended to some patients by their physicians if they are homebound.
Common uses
Cialis is used to treat erection difficulties, such as erectile dysfunction (ED).
Directions
Cialis comes in two different strengths: 10 mg and 20 mg. The normal startup dose for most patients is 10 mg of Cialis at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. If you don't experience results the first time you take Cialis, your doctor may recommend increasing your dose to 20 mg. Remember to follow your doctor's advice exactly. DON'T take more Cialis than what's prescribed to you. If side effects occur or if they become bothersome, talk to your doctor.
Precautions
Cialis may cause dizziness in some patients. Until you're exactly sure how you'll respond to Cialis, use caution when driving or operating heavy machinery. To minimize your chances of experiencing side effects, avoid drinking grapefruit juice with Cialis. Also, DON'T use Cialis if you're taking medications containing nitrates, have uncontrolled blood pressure, or if you have a history of stroke or heart attack.
Possible side effects
Like most medications, Cialis might produce some side effects. In clinical testing the most common side effects reported with Cialis were headache, dyspepsia, dizziness, flushing, nasal congestion, back pain, and muscle pain. These side effects were generally mild and weren't severe enough to discontinue treatment.
Overdose
If overdose of Cialis is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Additional information
